About Sterling:

Poor Sterling. At 9 years old, Sterling has never experienced life outside of his own backyard, until now. He was surrendered to us when his owner realized that he was not able to provide Sterling with the proper care… and this happened just in the knick of time. Sterling has advanced stage heartworm disease, is underweight, and seems very stiff in his rear end. We don’t think he would have survived another winter outside in the cold and we want to ensure that he is as comfortable and spoiled as possible in his golden years! Sterling is a very sweet boy who greets people with a tail wag and a gentle kiss. He enjoys being pet and curling up in nice, comfy beds. Sterling gets along with other dogs but may do best with dogs his size. We think he would do alright in a home with older kids who know how to respect older dogs’ needs. This sweet boy is long overdue for life as a family pet. I Heart Dogs will cover all costs of treatment for his heartworm at our local vet but Sterling’s adopter will need to be committed to getting him to and from appointments and following the doctor’s recommendations.
