About Sparky:

FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR SPARKY’S HEARTWORM TREATMENT:

Sparky is an adult Labrador Retriever / Cattle Dog mix who came to us from another shelter that was being forced to euthanize for space. He is understandably nervous at our shelter and is having a difficult time coping with all of the commotion around him every day. Despite being a little nervous, Sparky is very sweet and follows staff around like a shadow. He is gentle and accepting of attention and will nudge your hand away so he can lay his head in your lap. With a little patience in the beginning, Sparky will have no trouble  bonding closely with his new family, as he has done with us at the Haven. Unfortunately, Sparky tested positive for heartworm and will soon be undergoing treatment; we would really like to find him a foster or forever home to recover in as the shelter makes it difficult for him to just relax. Sparky does ok with other dogs but would be most comfortable without younger children. He has not yet been tested with cats.
