About Sarge:
Sarge is an adorable Shepherd mix who came to us after being found alone in a vacant house; neighbors were complaining about a dog that wouldn’t stop barking and, upon arrival, his rescuers noted that somebody had turned all of the gas in the home in an attempt to keep it warm. The home was not owned or legally occupied, however, and so Sarge was removed and brought to us, where he was never claimed. Sarge is very people motivated and wags his entire body side to side when he sees ANYONE, familiar or not! Sarge loves to play fetch and knows several commands — he will sit, shake, lay, and come when he is called. Sarge does just about anything for treats, loves to cuddle, enjoys long walks, and gets the zoomies when out in the yard! He gets along well with other dogs but may do best in a home without small children. He hasn’t been tested with cats yet. Sarge has some fears that he will need to overcome and he can be a bit of a barker — he will do best with an experienced family willing to help him overcome these issues.
