About October:
October is a absolute sweetheart of a Coonhound! He came to us from a rural shelter after being found scavenging for food out of a dumpster; he later pooped out remnants of bags, rocks, and other non-edible objects, so we know he must have been starving out there on his own! October is small for his breed and an absolute doll; he will sit on your lap for ear scratches and just adores being with his people! October was very thin when we took him in from another shelter and we are still working on fattening him up. He adores toys and will play fetch with a tennis ball for hours; however, he is a very silly, clumsy boy and will knock the ball around with his feet and ears while he is trying to pick it up! October could use some work on a leash and with his basic obedience training as he is still just a big puppy without many manners, but he is a wonderful dog who will make a great family companion! Due to his breed’s tendency to bark and bay, October should not go to an apartment or condo-type setting; he really needs his own yard to play in with his people. October does great with other dogs but is often times too much as he doesn’t know when to stop; he would love to have a canine brother or sister to chase around and wrestle with, but they would need to be able to keep up with his energy level! He would do fine in a home with children who are steady on their feet. We have not yet tested October with cats.
October is currently living in a foster home so introductions will need to be scheduled ahead of time.
