About Nash:

Nash is the most adorable pure breed Lemon Beagle who was surrendered to us simply because his owners did not want him anymore.  And it gets worse … they didn’t care if he went to a shelter that would likely euthanize him if we did not take him.  This was after having him for 6 years.  Our hearts are constantly broken because we can not understand how somebody could be as cold and callous as this, especially now that we have gotten to know and love this sweetie pie.  Nash is our office dog right now because he is not crate or kennel trained so he gets very anxious when put in them.  But he is house trained and will let you know when he has to go potty.  Everyone that meets him loves him because he is so friendly, but also very sad.  You see, his owners fed him to the point where he was morbidly obese and out of shape.  He was 62 pounds when he was surrendered, and Beagles should not weigh more than 40-45 lbs.  So he has been on a diet and exercise routine to improve his quality of life and longevity. He is friendly with most dogs and seems to do well with cats too.  He currently walks with a limp that we are hoping subsides with his weight loss, but if not, we will cover any treatment or surgery that is needed.  He just needs a home that will love and appreciate him.  He will do best in a home with a stay-at-home parent, somebody who works from home, or a retiree.  He likes people that much!  If he seems like a fit for your household, please give him a chance.  We know you will love him as much as we do.

If you are interested in meeting Ricky, introductions need to be scheduled ahead of time since he is living in a foster home.
