About Monty:

Monty is a stunning tiger-striped mixed breed puppy who came to us after being trapped under a porch in the rain. He was understandably petrified and completely shut down when he arrived and didn’t even really want to be touched; he just wanted to hide. Very quickly though, we began to see bits of his real personality shining through! Monty bonds very closely to the people he loves and gets very excited when he sees them. He is learning to enjoy the comforts of a bed, and seems to feel more secure when he has a crate of his own to relax in when the world becomes overwhelming. Monty likes to chew on toys and shows a lot if interest in squeakers; his cute head tilts ensure us that someday, he will play like a real dog! Monty doesn’t like being away from his favorite people and will whine and cry when left alone; he may have some minor separation anxiety but we have yet to see him destroy anything. Monty has an adorable under bite and the softest fur we’ve ever felt on a dog. We aren’t really sure what kind of dog he is but that doesn’t matter; he’s just GORGEOUS! He does have a small scar on his back that resembles something being wrapped tightly or embedded into his skin, possibly a harness; we can’t say for sure what happened to him, but he is all healed up from it now. Monty hasn’t had a chance to make friends with other dogs yet but we shows signs of being dog friendly given prolonged introductions, likely with calmer dogs that won’t jump on him to play. We think he would do best in a quiet home without young children due to his timid nature; he will take time to adjust to living in a home and loud noises or sudden movements may frighten him initially. Monty is an amazing pup who we think will blossom in a home environment given a patient and loving family!
