About Maximus:
Maximus is a young Cattle Dog / Rat Terrier mix who came to us when his family’s living situation changed and they were no longer able to give him the life he deserves. He is incredibly soft and can be a bit mischievous. Max can be a little shy of new people and will need a few minute to get to know you before getting comfortable; he does warm up quickly, however, and bonds very close to his people. Once he is comfortable, he is a typical puppy; he likes to run around and play fetch! He is treat motivated and would learn quickly with positive reinforcement training. Maximus can be a little unsure of other dogs but would do fine in a home with a calm, well-rounded canine sibling. Maximus has never been exposed to cats but will be introduced soon to see how he does. He prefers not to be picked up, but will jump up on his back legs to give hugs and enjoys sitting in your lap. Max weighs less than 30 pounds and won’t get any bigger; he is the perfect size for any type of home. He would be most comfortable without young children in the home.
