About Lucy:

Lucy has impacted our lives and she desperately needs a forever home. She was a street dog when found and was heavy with puppies and it wasn’t her first litter. She was diagnosesed with very late stage heartworm stayed in a foster home to recoup. Now fully recovered, Lucy was returned to the haven and was stressed as she is definately reactive to ALL animals. Lucy must be in a loving home where she is the ONE and ONLY. She has enough love and cuddles and just wants a home. She will not jump on you unless you allow it. She does not get on the furniture unless you allow it. She loves being called up on your lap to cuddle and will sleep until your legs are numb. She will take treats from your hand and sometimes needs to be reminded…easy. Young children 6 and up have enjoyed her company and I am comfortable with that too. She will run, given the chance and thus needs a secure fenced and gated yard to run off her energy. Lucy “kennels up” at night and enjoys sleeping in. She seems to have an excellent bladder and can go for 10 hours! Lucy is strong and loves a rope toy, but you might not be as strong. She is not great on a leash; she can’t wait to have one on but thinks it means you want to be pulled to the car or anyplace else. If you need exercise, have patience and always wanted an only child, Lucy is your gal.
