About Louie:
Louie was rescued on the streets of Detroit near death due to starvation. He spent a few weeks at the vet being nursed back to health. Now that he has put weight on, he will actually leave food in his dish if he is not hungry! However, he loves his treats and needs more work learning to take them gently from people’s hands. Louie is very sweet but initially shy, and especially shy of people reaching toward him. This is quickly remedied by giving him treats for a few minutes. Treats are definitley a way to his heart.
Although we have not had Louie with dogs yet, he does not seem to mind them. We like to take things slowly with the dogs in order to set them up for success – Louie has been through a lot so dog introductions can wait until he seems ready. But overall, this boy is really laid back and will most likely cuddle on the couch with you if you let him. And while we are not sure of his breed, we think he looks a little like he has St. Bernard him. What do you think?
