About Lil’ Bear:

Lil’ Bear is a super soft, super low-key Lhasa Apso mix who came to us from another shelter. He was originally found as a stray and was so dirty and matted that one leg was almost completely immobile; we initially thought he had a limp but, once shaved, his gait returned to normal. We also noticed that he would occasionally walk into things; at first, we thought this was a result of his hair being in his eyes… after shaving, this issue did not improve. Our vet believes Lil’ Bear is completely blind in one eye, but does have some limited vision in the other eye. No medication or intervention is necessary at this point and he seems to cope just fine, but does occasionally bump into things in new situations. Otherwise, Lil’ Bear is a great little lap dog who loves to go for leisurely walks and just hang out on a warm lap. He is quiet and well-mannered, doesn’t mess in his kennel, and takes treats gently. He seems to do well with other calm dogs but would do best in a home without young children do to his visual impairment. Lil’ Bear does well for the groomer but will let you know when he has had enough. He does have a low-shed, hypoallergenic type coat which makes him great for some people with allergies, but does mean he will require life-long frequent grooming.
