About Kobe:

Kobe is a handsome German Shepherd who came to us as a stray. Weighing in at around 60 pounds, Kobe is on the small side for a Shepherd; he is short but stocky. Kobe is strong and could use a little work on his leash manners; however, we think he could learn quickly once settled in to a new home. Kobe doesn’t mind meeting new people but does not jump in to new relationships with reckless abandon; he will approach strangers of his own accord and give them a good sniff down before deciding that he is ready to be friends… but once he familiarizes himself with you, you’ll be his best friend. Kobe is a relatively calm dog but does require daily exercise to be at his best. He shows signs of being good with other dogs but hasn’t actually been in a playgroup yet; he plays well at the fence line and gets excited and whiny when he walks past other dogs on leash. We think he would do well in a home with children, but we have not tested him around cats yet. Unfortunately, Kobe has also tested positive for heartworm disease. I Heart Dogs will cover all costs of treatment at our local vet but Kobe’s adopter will need to be committed to getting him to and from appointments and following the doctor’s recommendations.
