About Harvey:

Harvey is a sweet, gentle Rottweiler mix who came to us from another shelter where he had sat for about 2 years. He wasn’t having any luck getting adopted so was transferred to us in hopes that he could find his forever family sooner! Harvey’s original story is unknown; we do know that he was injured on arrival and is in need of TPLO surgery on both knees now to repair the damage. This will involve two seperate surgeries and recovery periods, and Harvey cannot recover properly living in a kennel environment. At the shelter Harvey came from, he was considered a volunteer favorite and enjoyed going for walks with his pals. He is still fairly new to us and is having a hard time figuring out his new environment and his new caretakers, but he is settling in a little bit more by the day! He wags his tail when he sees familiar people and will even dance and spin when his favorite people come to sit with him in the yard! Harvey enjoys laying on comfortable beds and going for leisurely walks. Although Harvey comes off as a little nervous right now, he comes to life when other dogs are around! He loves to hang out with other pups and may benefit from a home where he has other dogs to hang out with! We also think he would be most comfortable in a home without young children, at least until fully integrated into his new home and recovered from surgery. Harvey is going to be a great dog for just about any family, he just needs a chance to prove what an awesome boy he is!

Harvey is presently living in a foster home so introductions will need to be scheduled ahead of time.
