About Felicity:
Felicity is a cute 8 week old (12/21) grey tabby kitten who came to us after being found and unable to be rehomed. She is a very sweet kitten who loves wrestling and playing with other cats. Felicity is a super cute, incredibly soft kitten who is looking for a family to snuggle up with!
Unfortunately, Felicity has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. This is not a death sentence and she is expected to live a long, happy life! Being that Felicity is still so young, a false positive is possible, so she should be retested at six months of age to determine if she is actually positive. New research has shown that FIV is not as great a risk to other cats as once thought and that many vets feel that FIV cats are fine with others cats as long as they are compatible. It is difficult to transmit to other cats; it is usually passed from mother to kitten, but can also be passed via a deep bite to another cat. Felicity CAN be placed in a home with other cats so long as her adopters understand the minor risk of transmission. As far as health is concerned, FIV+ cats can live perfectly normal lives but may have a more difficult time fighting off illness; yearly vet visits and treatment at any sign of infection are a must.
