Elijah

About Elijah:

Elijah is a big, middle-aged mixed breed with a lot of spunk and attitude! He is a mellow dude who doesn’t see a need to rush anywhere; he shuffles along slowly and always stops to smell the flowers. He likes being outside and will whine when he wants to go out. He will alert his future family to the presence of strangers as he does bark if someone he doesn’t know gets too close. He will approach strangers if invited and has shown no signs of guarding behavior beyond his initial bark. Elijah likes being with people but is a little on the independent side; he would spend all day just wandering and sniffing around if you’d let him. Despite his cool and collected personality, Elijah does have some attitude! He will let you know what he wants, when he wants it. He reminds us of a little old man who knows he can say or do whatever he wants and nobody will do anything about it! While Elijah doesn’t mind car rides, he does get car sick frequently so may not be the best companion for somebody looking to take him on the road a lot. Elijah walks well on a leash and seems to get along with other dogs. He would do well in just about any home.
