About Dante:
Dante is a handsome, purebred Giant Schnauzer who was surrendered to us when he was having a hard time adjusting to the young children in the home. While his family loved him very much and took very good care of him since the time he was a pup, he became extremely stressed out when children were brought into the picture. Though they tried to put it off for a while, his family felt it was the best option for him to let him go to a new home where he could be more comfortable in his golden years. Dante is a typical Giant dog; he can be a bit suspicious of strangers (both human and canine) and will bark a lot as they approach, but he has no intention of acting on it. He seems to do well with other dogs after the initial introduction, but his size and his bark makes some other dogs nervous of him. He is great for the groomer and will even roll over to let them clip him. He enjoys going for walks, has previously lived with cats and done well, enjoys playing fetch in the water, and will roll over for belly rubs at a moment’s notice! Dante is a wonderful boy who is totally housebroken and familiar with living in a home; we are hopeful that he will quickly find a home without children to spend his golden years in!
