About Cookie:
Cookie is a young Pointer mix who came to us from a rescue in Texas that was having a hard time placing her. They sent her to us in hopes that we could find her a home. Cookie was originally a stray taken to a high-kill shelter with obvious signs of neglect; she was found with extreme hair loss and was malnourished. It took her about a week or two to assimilate into her foster home, but once she did, it was as if she had been there her whole life! She may need a little extra time to settle in to her forever home as she can be nervous at first. Cookie eats well and is potty trained. Cookie is a GREAT dog and her new parents are going to feel very blessed to have her! She deserves a safe secure home that understands she may need a bit of extra time to feel totally comfortable. Cookie feels most secure when with her family and does best when kept in a quiet room with music playing while they’re away. She does love playing fetch and chasing after toys. She plays gentle tug of war and is learning to enjoy going for car rides. Cookie enjoys going for walks, running around outside, and does like digging when given the chance. She can be fearful of sudden loud noises and aggressive movements, but is confident so long as her family is with her. Cookie rarely barks, likes to give kisses, and has a very silly side to her. She is also very smart and learns new things quickly. Cookie’s ideal home would have a privacy fence as she could climb a standard 4′ chain link fence if left alone — we have not lost her with our 6′ chain link fences though. Cookie is great with other dogs too!
