About Bella:
Bella is a border collie mix who is small in stature and oh so cute. She has the characteristic tendencies of a herding breed – she will chase and nip at the heels of anything that runs… yet does surprisingly well with cats! Bella was said to dislike the company of other dogs in her former home but has shown signs of wanting to play with certain doggy neighbors at the shelter — she may just be selective about who she likes. She was also said to be great with children but protective to a fault – we recommend a home with no young kids for this reason. Bella is a dog who needs exercise; when not given an outlet, she can develop some anxious behaviors. When properly exercised, she is a wonderful companion with a lot of love to give. Her previous owner was an on-the-road trucker who kept her with her in her truck most of the time. She was surrendered to the shelter because, after several years of being together, the owner decided they just “never really bonded” and wanted to give her up. Bella is now looking for a home that understands her breed and can give her the love and attention she needs to thrive!
