Avalon

About Avalon:

Avalon is an adult pit bull mix who came to us from a local city shelter in really rough shape; she had recently had pups, was incredibly thin, suffering from an upper respiratory infection, and missing a bunch of fur due to mange. She was a sad, sickly pup who just wanted to lay in our laps. Now that she is starting to feel better and her fur is growing in, Avalon is beginning to show her true personality! This sweet little blue pitty is just a big puppy who bounces when she runs and rolls around on her back when she’s excited. When she wags her tail, her whole body shakes with it. She is always in the mood for lovin’ and really enjoys play time too! Avalon loves toys and will carry her favorites outside with her! Avalon probably hasn’t had much experience living in a home so is going to need some obedience training to be the best she can be.

The kennel environment is very hard for Avalon. She initially tested well with other dogs, but we have not paired her up with a play buddy out of concern about her level of stress — she has shown some reactivity to the dogs neighboring her. In a home, she may do better. Please ask to meet this sweetie pie because even though we saved her from uncertain fate at her prior shelter, the saving is not done. She needs the right person or family to give her a forever home where she can thrive and be the friendly, loving girl that has become a signature of the breed.
