Volunteer!

We love our volunteers! They play an important role in helping our dogs and cats find loving homes. There are several ways you can get involved as a volunteer.

  • Spend quality time with our dogs and cats at our shelter
  • Walk dogs
  • Do laundry and wash dishes
  • Clean kennels
  • Building maintenance
  • Work at an adoption or fundraising event
  • Transport our pets to events and vet clinics
  • Help in our administrative office
  • And so much more!

Interested? Fill out this quick application so we can learn about you and your interests, and we will follow-up to invite you to one of our virtual orientations that are held twice per month. Please note that we require volunteers to be 18 years of age or older.

Puppy Volunteers!

Our Puppy Pavilion is an area we keep separate from the rest of the shelter to prevent cross-contamination of viruses and bacteria. When volunteering with our puppies, you will get lots of snuggles and kisses while you help us take care of them, as well as clean and disinfect their space. Added bonus, teenagers 13+ can volunteer with a parent/guardian, and 16+ with parent/guardian’s approval but does not have to be present.
To get started, watch this quick training video and then start signing up for shifts HERE on our calendar. Please note that we are dependent upon our volunteers to cover the shifts they sign up for, so please do not sign up if you are not 100% committed to showing up.

“Being part of the I Heart Dogs volunteer group is so rewarding. Being able to help sick or injured animals back to health, watching them go from frightened of everything to become loving and affectionate, is what it’s all about. Helping I Heart Dogs fulfill their mission statement has been one of the most gratifying things I’ve ever done. Be a volunteer and feel what I feel.”
