About Shadow:
Shadow is a 5-year-old Labrador Retriever/Dachshund mix — yes, you read that right! Despite her supposed heritage, Shadow resembles a black lab more than anything. She is perfectly plump at 80 lbs but we would like to see her take off a little weight to extend her healthy life. Shadow was surrendered to us by her owner when she was forced to move into a group facility — they would not allow Shadow to join her, and Shadow had nowhere else to go. Her owner was heartbroken, but we promised we would find her a great new home! Shadow seems to be a mellow lady, though understandably confused by her new living arrangement; we would like to get her into a new home as quickly as possible! Shadow does well with other dogs but may be a little nervous with initial introductions. She would also do well with children of all ages. She walks well on a leash and has very good manners — her former owner says she is completely housebroken! It doesn’t take much to keep Shadow happy — a few scratches, some treats, and a quick walk is all she needs in return for a lifetime of love!
