About George Michael:
Yes, George Michael was named after THE late George Michael because of his handsome golden eyes and sweet and loving nature. Little did we know we were paying tribute to an amazing man we would lose only a few weeks after naming him. Our George Michael was found in Detroit while looking for another dog that was lost in the same area. Except in George Michael’s case, he was left behind by scrappers who were tearing apart a house that he was supposed to be guarding. Ha! Guarding a house and scaring people away is the furthest thing from this dog’s mind because he is a lover. Yes, he loves every person and dog that he meets, and he also does really well with children having been around his finder’s child who has a hyperactivity disability. Some of his favorite things are going for walks, playing in the yard, cuddling and giving kisses, playing fetch, tug with a big rope, and so much more. He is very energetic and requires a home with either a privacy fence or 6′ chain link fence due to his athletic ability to leap over anything shorter.
Unfortunately, we recently found out that George was born with a congenital heart defect called pulmonary stenosis. We are currently working with the doctor to get him on a medicine regimen that will not only help reduce the pressure on his heart, but also extend his life. Surgery has not been ruled out, but currently is not being recommended. We would like to find a forever foster or adopter who has the means to take on his medical care. George may have a heart that is “broken”, but that will not stop him from loving his future family with all of his heart. He needs to experience a good life in a home with people who adore him as much as we do. Please consider this sweet boy. You will not regret it.
