About Max (aka Nemo):
Out of all of the dogs we have saved, Max’s story is probably one of the hardest to share. In 2015, when Max was only 3-4 months old, it was planned that he would be surrendered to our rescue so that we could find him a safe and happy home. Unfortunately he was placed into another home before that happened, and then was passed around until he ended up chained in a backyard of Detroit starving to death. Thank goodness for the Tree Trimmer who saw him from above, and Detroit Pit Crew who brought him to safety. Now it’s our turn to make it right for this forgiving boy. He is still the friendly, happy, loving, loyal boy that we met last year. While we continue to put some weight on him, nurse his damaged skin and wounds, we are giving him space to relax and see that his life has taken a turn for the good. What would make it the best is a home of his own where he is treated like a king.
