About Nokosi:

Nokosi (Kosi for short) came to us after being taken to a local shelter as a stray with his friend Serafina; their owner was located but was not interested in taking them back, so we offered to take them in and find them appropriate homes. Nokosi is a big, handsome boy weighing in at around 95 lbs! He is very friendly and will demand belly rubs by rolling over on his back and smacking you with his paw until you give in; in his kennel, he will lean up against the bars with all of his weight asking for scratches! Nokosi loves rolling around in the snow and running laps in the yard. He enjoys chewing on Kong toys and will do just about anything for a piece of cheese. He is very strong and requires a harness on walks. Typical of his breed, Nokosi can be very headstrong and stubborn; he is also not a fan of confinement. While we typically recommend a crate when introducing a new dog into your home, Kosi would prefer a larger area of his own such as a room or basement, if he must be confined. While he is an amazing dog with a goofy personality, we are currently only considering Malamute (or similar breed) experienced homes. Kosi seems to do well with other dogs but has not been placed in a playgroup yet. We do think he would be best suited for a home without cats or young children.
