About Brownie:

Brownie Boy is just the perfect boy! Brownie was brought to us by a good Samaritan who saw him walking around on the streets of Detroit, skin and bones and very weak. He pleaded with us to take Brownie and help him, and when we met the poor boy, we could not refuse! Even in his weakest state, he would wag his tail and give kisses! We rushed him to the vet where he was discovered to be severely amenic; so much so that he almost required a blood transfusion! Luckily, Brownie is a fighter and with some good food and medication, his body began to bounce back on it’s own! Brownie is the perfect dog. He is extremely calm and low energy, seems to enjoy going for leisurely walks, shows signs of enjoying the company of other dogs, has absolutely no guarding issues, and would do well in just about any home! We think he will be an all-around fantastic family member! Brownie loves to lay in laps and give big, wet pitty kisses. He enjoys food and treats and will learn quickly if it means he gets goodies! He has yet to meet a person he doesn’t like, rides well in the car, and seems to think he looks handsome in sweaters as he prances around and shows off! He is a very happy boy who we think deserves to be spoiled in his forever home, we just have to find it for him! Unfortunately, Brownie Boy has also tested positive for heartworm disease. I Heart Dogs will cover all costs of treatment at our local vet but Brownie’s adopter will need to be committed to getting him to and from appointments and following the doctor’s recommendations.
