About Abigail:

Abigail is a scruffy little terrier/Havanese mix who came to us as a stray. She was in great shape and had on a pretty pink collar and a flea collar so we were sure she would be claimed by her owner… but noone ever came. We don’t foresee this little girl having any trouble finding a new home though — she is small, cute, and spunky; just what many people look for in a dog! Abigail has wirey fur which may make her a good pet for some people with allergies. She has quite a bit of energy and loves to play; with people, ogher dogs, and toys too! She would enjoy walks around the neighborhood and going for car rides with her family. At the end of the day, Abigail is happiest just being with her people. She gets along well with most other dogs, would do fine with children of all ages, and could adjust to almost any type of living arrangement, so long as she could get the appropriate amount of exercise. Abigail is very excitable and does bark from time to time, but isn’t overly vocal. She loves food and will be easily trained with treats. While we don’t know much about her former life, we do think she will make a wonderful companion for just about any family! Unfortunately, Abigail has tested positive for heartworm disease. We are getting her started on her treatment plan, but would love for her to have a home of her own to recover in! I Heart Dogs will cover the cost of treatment at our local veterinarian, but her adopters will need to be able to get her to and from her appointments (2-3 total).
