About Duchess:
Duchess is a GORGEOUS black and brindle Cane Corso Mastiff who came to us from a nearby animal control facility; she was initially found running in the neighborhood of one of our volunteers and we were asked to take her in once her stray hold was up. Duchess very quickly became a staff favorite! Despite her size, Duchess is a very sensitive girl who can be a little nervous of new situations; she prefers to stay in her comfort zone but can be coaxed to explore the world by her people. Duchess is incredibly human oriented and, although she weighs 100 pounds, definitely believes she is a lap dog! She will always find a way to lay in or near your lap, enjoys belly rubs, and will even put her paws on your shoulders to give slobbery kisses if you let her! Duchess has shown interest in playing with other dogs but hasn’t been tested with cats yet; we do think she would do well with children who are steady on their feet! Overall, Duchess is an awesome dog who is just looking for a family to call her own! We think she would do best with a family who understands the sensitive nature of mastiffs and is committed to helping her gain confidence in her new home!
