About Dean:
Dean is a Shepherd/Retriever mix who came to us with his sons Sinatra and Sammy from a rural shelter that was full. We were told their owner kept them primarily outdoors and eventually decided he know longer wanted them. Dean is a sweetheart who LOVES giving kisses and won’t stop until every inch of your face is clean! He can be a little nervous in new situations but settles in after only a couple of days; after that, he is ready to be your best buddy! Dean is not terrible on a leash but does get very frightened when taken outside of his comfort zone; he would probably prefer a romp in the yard over a walk around the block, but could learn to enjoy going out and about with just a little patience and reassurance! Dean loves other dogs and may even benefit from having a confident canine sibling in his new home. He also seems to LOVE cats and whines we he sees them until we allow him to get close. He is not a big barker but will require frequent brushing to keep his coat looking nice. Dean would do best in a home without small children.
