About Sinatra:

Sinatra is a young Aussie/Retriever mix with piercing blue eyes who came to us with his father (Dean) and brother (Sammy) from a rural shelter that was full. We were told their owner kept them primarily outdoors and eventually decided he know longer wanted them. Sinatra is a sweet boy but can be very timid in new situations; we he first came us, he just wanted to hide! It only took a few days for him to become more confident in his surroundings and now he approaches us with a smile and a wagging tail! We believe Sammy will react in much the same way in a new home so his adopter will need to be patient and give him time to settle in. He may very well be a homebody who prefers to stay at home; while he is learning to walk on a leash, once outside of familiar territory, he does revert to wanting to hide. At home, however, we think he will be a great member of the family! Sammy loves other dogs and enjoys play-wrestling with them. He may benefit from having a confident canine sibling to show him the ropes! Sinatra also loves the water and will splash around in his puppy pool until he is all soaking wet! We think he would do well with cats, but may do best in a home without very small children. We think Sinatra will thrive in a home with patient adopters willing to give him whatever time he needs to decompress!
