About Yogi:
FOSTER NEEDED FOR YOGI’S HEARTWORM TREATMENT
Yogi is an Akita mix who was found running around on his own on the streets of Detroit. He is a big, gentle dog who believes he is a lap dog; if you sit in his kennel with him, he will lay his massive head in your lap and demand cuddles. If he thinks you’ve stopped petting him too soon, he will gently tap you with his paw until you continue. He is a big fan of stuffy toys and nyla bone toys and will lie right next to you while chewing on them. This big guy is extremely mellow and really likes to just hang out; while he does love being outside, he would prefer to snuggle on the couch over just about any other activity. He is pretty good on a leash and enjoys brisk walks, is very people-oriented, takes treats gently, never potties in his kennel, and is just an overall even-tempered pup. Yogi seems to do just fine with other dogs and would likely do well with children of all ages as well. He has not yet been tested with cats. Unfortunately, Yogi tested positive for heartworm and will be undergoing treatment soon; we would love for him to have a home to recover in!
